Setúbal is a Portuguese city, capital of the District of Setúbal, included in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. It has approximately an area of 51.49 km2 and 90,396 inhabitants (considering the entire area and population of the parishes of Setúbal (São Julião, Nossa Senhora da Anunciada and Santa Maria da Graça) and São Sebastião (Setúbal)) in 2021, and therefore a population density of 1,755 inhabitants per km2, making it the 9th largest city in the country.

Azeitão was the seat of a municipality that was extinguished on October 24, 1855 and was integrated into the municipality of Setúbal. The Arrábida Natural Park is a biogenetic reserve located on the Setúbal peninsula, covering the municipalities of Palmela, Setúbal and Sesimbra, with the highest altitude in Pico do Formosinho, with 501 meters of altitude, in the district of Setúbal, in Portugal. It extends for 35 kilometers, including several mountains and places of notable interest and natural beauty, such as Serra do Louro, Serra do Risco, Serra de São Luís, Serra dos Gaiteiros, Serra Longa, Serra de São Francisco and Serra da Serra itself.
