Terraced rice fields are paddies created on steep slopes such as mountainsides and are laid out in a staircase fashion. They were built around 400 years ago on walls piled up with stones from the mountains.
Nestled between the mountain slopes, the Tsuzura Rice Terraces cover an area of 7 hectares and are made from 300 slabs of stone.
