Pickup included
From the pier (or your selected starting point) we drive to the Medieval City (World Heritage Site) where you can get your pictures from outside of the most important Gates.
A) According to a new traffic regulation no cars enter the Old Town, only pedestrians. We can finish the tour later at a gate of the Old Town, so you can visit it on your own and walk back to the ship. From the Medieval City to the Cruise Port is 5min flat walk. This way you save time and money, as you don’t have to pay the driver (waiting-time)
B) No stress, our knowledgeable drivers can show you how to walk via the Old Town back to the ship (just talk to your driver)
We continue out of the Old Town and pass the Historical Buildings we visit the Mandraki Old Harbor, where according to the tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood - One of the seven wonders of the ancient world. At the entrance of the old harbor, atop tall columns, stand the two bronze deer - characteristic landmarks of the island. We can help with your pictures with background the deer, one the many significant landmarks of Rhodes (You get out of the car for photos)
Close to the entrance of the Old Port is the Church of the Annunciation that houses amazing gothic wall paintings by Fotis Kontoglou and impressive chandeliers. Today it is the town’s cathedral (Optional Visit)
We drive to Acropolis of Rhodes (with the car no climb)
On the way you see the North point of the Island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea meet. Once we come to (Monte Smith) Acropolis of Rhodes Town, we stop at a vantage point for a Panoramic view of the City (get your photos and feel the breeze of the Aegean Sea). We continue and see from a vantage point (get out of the car and take your photos from a vantage point, so you don't need to walk in) the Temple of Apollo, the Greek Stadium, and the Ancient Theater
After finishing with the highlights of Rhodes Town we drive south east to Lindos. On the way we pass by the Tsambika Beach - Scenic
On the way to Lindos you can choose an optional short stop at a pottery workshop where the traditional pottery of Rhodes is made. You can see the wonderful pieces of art, and watch the potter working at his wheel. You can even learn the mystery of the Pythagorean cup!
One mile before Lindos we stop at a vantage point for a panoramic picture of the Acropolis, the Village, and the Port of Lindos - Scemic
Then we drive into the Village at the main square so you can:
Option A) To walk the alleys of Lindos and climb up the 292 steps to Acropolis
Option B) Just explore the white village, walk the alleys of Lindos (not climb up to acropolis) This way you save time, skip the crowds, and have more time to explore the White Village. You driver can show you the acropolis from vantage points, and you get your photos from a distance
You have one hour to spend in Lindos (village and Acropolis) In case you need more time please let us know on time of booking so we can modify the tour to your needs
Walk through Lindos Village and up the many steps and uphill pathways to the summit of the Acropolis to see the magnificent remains of past civilizations and enjoy the 360 panoramic view. You have 30 min for the Acropolis. Total Time in Lindos is one hour. In case you need more time, please let us know, so we can modify the tour. (You can skip the 292 steps to Acropolis)
LINDOS ACROPOLIS E-TICKET SYSTEM
At Lindos Acropolis, entry is restricted to specific time slots covered by the e-ticket system. Typically, visitors reach Lindos village approximately 2.5 hours after the tour begins, with an additional 15-minute ascent to the acropolis.
You can buy online in advance, or few hours before your visit, or once you are in Lindos village before ascending to the acropolis
The tickets are non-refundable
Later we meet you at the main square of Lindos Village and drive you down to the Saint Paul's bay, where the apostle is said to have landed in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. From this point you can also view the cave where the film “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed - Wild Nature Landscape (You get out of the car to take your photos)
On the way back from Lindos you stop for Delicious Snack or Lunch Experience (at your own expense) at the Haraki seaside village at the Mediterranean Sea right on the water’s edge, with fresh seafood - Greek cuisine and excellent local wines - Scenic
At the beginning and at the end of the tourist season, we may change the restaurant at the sea with a traditional Greek restaurant
(traditional Greek restaurant is from November to end of April)
After finishing lunch, we drive from the East to the West Coast and visit Monte Filerimos - Ancient Acropolis of Ialyssos. Panoramic view of the West Coast - with the car, no climb. The plateau of Filerimos rises nearly 267 meter / 876 feet above sea level. Here you’ll visit the Church of Our Lady, built upon the foundations of the ancient temple of Athena. You’ll also see the exterior of the monastery and courtyard. On the right hand side there is a beautiful tree sheltered pathway the “Way of the Cross” This is a series of shrines with relief scenes of the Passion, which leads from the main square to the west edge of the plateau to the 16 meter / 48 feet cross, from which you can enjoy a stunning view.
And through Ialyssos and Ixia Beach of the west coastal road, back to Rhodes Old City for independent browsing, or to the ship. The Medieval City (Old City) is a 10 min flat walk from the cruise port
