About this experience

Kazakhstan, was one of the transcontinental constituent republics of the Soviet Union from 1936 to 1991. You will visit Karaganda, the city in 200km from Astana where you still may see Soviet architecture and spirit. The tour includes the visit of Karlag museum of political repression victims, one of the largest Gulag labor camps with 800,000 inmates served in total over its history. And it is an essential part of understanding the people and culture of Kazakhstan. It is a very sobering experience and exhibits repression in many forms
