By 3:30 pm, we'll reach Batu Caves, which is made up of limestone that's believed to be approximately 400 million years old. You'll also be able to witness the massive statue of the Indian deity, Murugan, situated right in front of the cave entrance. The site has been home to the Thaipusam festival since 1892, which takes place during the Tamil month of Thai (usually in late January or early February) and holds great importance to the Malaysian Indian community. Therefore, it's not surprising that the surrounding areas of Batu Caves are bustling with Indian locals.
