1. Historic center of Sintra
Start at Centro Histórico with its narrow streets, small cafes and traditional sweets like travesseiros. A short walk is worthwhile before continuing into the mountains.
2. Palácio Nacional de Sintra
The palace with its distinctive white chimneys is centrally located and offers a good introduction to the history of the region.
3. Palácio da Pena (if pre-booked) selection with Quinta
By car you can reach the famous Palácio da Pena via a winding road. The colourful construction is one of Portugal's Unpacked. Parking spaces are located below – from there you can continue on foot or by shuttle.
5. Quinta da Regaleira (choice between Quinta and Pena)
Returning to the city you will reach the Quinta da Regaleira. The Initiation Fountain with its spiral staircase is particularly well known – a must on any Sintra tour.
6. Optional : Coastal cruise to Cabo da Roca
If there is time, it is recommended to continue to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. The route leads through an impressive coastal landscape.
Drive with your guide along the coast to the fishing town of Cascais, take a walk there or sit in the warm sand and enjoy the air.
