About this experience

The temples of Khajuraho attract millions of tourists annually on account of rock cut carvings done in the sandstone. There temples based on Kamasutra theme present erotic carvings and architectural symbolism done by hammer and chisel. In the present tour product we take you on a private guided day tour of these temples along with a sound and light show in the evening.

Detailed itinerary

In the morning our driver will pick you from your Khajuraho hotel at your desired time given by you at the time of the booking of the product. We first take you to visit the western group of temples built by Chandela rules. Notable temple you visit is the Kandariya Mahadeva temple which is dedicated to lord Shiva and contains 84 towers. These temples have profusion of symbolism in intricate carvings. After visiting these many temples you will be taken to the eastern group of temples where you see the largest Jain temple dedicated to Parsavnath. These temples in these two groups represent the Hindu Gods and Goddesses and the Jain Tirthankaras. After finishing the sightseeing tour of the temples you can enjoy lunch and then if you desire you can go for shopping in the local Khajuraho Bazaar otherwise you can relax in the hotel. In the evening we collect you again for the sound and light show which is held at the Western Group temple complex.
