Detailed itinerary

This privately designed excursion trip will start with your driver picking you up from your hotel at 9:00 in the morning. You will drive around 172 km to Orchha in your private vehicle from Khajuraho which will take some 4-5 hours. En-route guide will describe you the tour plan in detail. Orchha is a small, pretty village valley amidst the hills, formed by the flow of Betwa River in the region.

On arrival, your first stop will be at 17th century monumental palace Jahangir Mahal, formed in the memory of Emperor Jahangir. The palace is a marvellous beauty designed with delicate chhatris (elevated pavillions) and exquisite work of trellis.

Later take a look of Raj Mahal, another stunning palace of 17th century crowned with chhatris. Its architecture is intricately designed with murals featuring various religious elements.
Next is a visit to Rai Praveen Mahal. These two-storeyed brick-built palaces is a formation in commemoration of 16th-century poet and musician. The major attraction of this palace is the prismatic sun rays slipping in the main hall and other chambers of the palace through the exquisitely carved recesses. The view will leave you awestruck.

Later move to visit the Chaturbhuj Temple with your guide. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his ‘Ramavtar’ this temple is standing on a huge rectangular stone platform. The exterior of the temple is simply ornamented with two large and four small spires. Interior of the temple is decorated with richly carved designs on the wall. It will be a lifetime experience to visit this temple for the attainment of divine and peace

After visiting the major attractions of Orchha, if you are left with more time, energy and passion to know more, you can also visit other attractions such as- Laxmi Narayan Temple, Janki Mandir, Phool Bagh, Jugal Kishore, Siddh Baba ka Sthan, Chhatris Cenotaphs, and Hanuman Mandir.
