We will start the day by picking you up in Ponta Delgada at 9am and take you to the rim of Sete Cidades’ caldera. We will pass by many viewpoints, where you can enjoy the green and blue lakes. We will leave this magical place to go to another, not less beautiful location after lunch: Fogo Lake.
Later on, we will have lunch in a local restaurant in Ponta Delgada. In the afternoon, we will take you to the amazing nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo to enjoy amazing landscapes. It is one of the most popular places around the island and you will understand why when you are there. From the top of the volcano, incredible views over São Miguel await with both North and South coast visible.
The adventure doesn’t stop here! We will drive to Caldeira Velha, a warm iron-rich waterfall where it is possible to take a dip thanks to the volcanic activity warming the water up to 26°C (79°F).

At the viewpoint of Fogo Lake, you will be able to learn more about the eruption of 1563 as well as some very interesting facts about the Natural Reserve of Fogo Lake
We will visit the natural pools. A true outdoor spa where you will have free time to relax and feel the hotsprings.
Here we will see and enjoy the waterfall Salto do Cabrito and you will find information about the hydroelectric station of São Miguel.
We will pass by the center of Ribeira Grande city
We will head back to Ponta Delgada.
