About this experience

Experience the Land of Trolls with our 6 hour sightseeing tour to Trollstigen.

The bus will take you from Ålesund, through charming norwegian villages to the Land of Trolls. First stop will be at Kokarsteinen placed just above the fiord. We will pass by Sjoholt village known for the furniture and wood industry and Valldal – famous for tasty strawberries.
Next stop will be at Gubrandsjuvet. It’s a 5 meters narrow and 20 – 25 meters high ravine where can take a bridge and walk over it. After that, the bus will drive you to the Trollstigen so you can enjoy the majestic view of natural landscape and fantastic mountain road with eleven hairpin turns. While driving down the road, we will take an extra photo stop at Stigefossen – the powerful waterfall with a total height of 240 meters. Last stop will be at Trollvegen (Troll Wall) which is Europe’s tallest vertical rock face. From here the bus will drive you through Åndalsnes back to Ålesund.

Stop 1 Pass by

The Art nouveau town of Ålesund is a perfect starting point for excursions in the beautiful surroundings. It is the largest city in the province of Møre og Romsdal and it has a unique setting across several islands streching out into the Atlantic Ocean. Destroyed in 1904 by a devastating fire it is now noted for its concentration of Art Nouveau style.

After passing Sjoholt, our first photo stop is at Kokarsteinen along the Storfjord.

We continue the tour via Stordal and further via Valldal, famous for its tasty strawberries, until we reach the spectacular Gudbrandsjuvet where we make another photo stop.

After the ascent up to the Trollstigen Plateau, we take a longer stop to enjoy the breathtaking views. Food and drinks can be bought in the shop/cafeteria.

On the descent down from the Trollstigen Plateau, we make a photo stop close the the impressive waterfall of Stigefossen.

The spectacular Troll Wall mounts above us. A beloved spot for mountain climbers and base jumpers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!: The road down Trollstigen is now open! Nonetheless, please keep in mind that its still an old mountain road which may suffer rock falls/landslides. This means that there is always a chance the Road Authorities close the road suddenly due to such an event occuring. If this is the case, during the tour you will still reach the viewpoint on top of the road coming from the south. You'll see all the sights (except, unfortunately, the Trollwall) and have a wonderful view of the road even if you won't be driving through it.

Our excursions are adapted to arrival and departure times of cruise ships. Modified departure times will be announced in advance.
