We begin our adventure in Palmela, with the imposing figure of the Castle welcoming us. This medieval fortress, with roots dating back to the Islamic occupation, offers a stunning panoramic view of the region. The Serra da Arrábida, the Sado estuary and the ocean stretch out at our feet, inviting us to immerse ourselves in the rich history and natural beauty of the region.
A path between vineyards and windmills
Cycling towards Azeitão, we are surrounded by bucolic landscapes. Green vineyards alternate with cultivated fields, while small villages transport us to a more traditional Portugal. The old bakery, still in operation, and the windmills of Serra do Louro, with over 200 years of history, are silent witnesses to the past.
