Detailed itinerary

1

Aso Nakadake Crater (about 15 - 20 minutes, free time, additional entrance fees are at your own expense).

(When Aso Volcano issues a notice prohibiting entry, the itinerary will be adjusted to match the actual situation on the spot.)

Aso Nakadake Crater is located in the northeast of Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu. It is a well-known active volcano in Japan and boasts a unique caldera terrain in the world. It is also one of the few places where you can see an active volcano up close.

You can overlook the crater from a short distance and observe the continuous white smoke, allowing you to experience the incredible power and magnificent beauty of nature during your journey.

2

Aso Kusasenri (about 60 minutes, free time, including lunch at your own expense)

Aso Kusasenri is a large grassland located at the northern foot of Eboshidake. There is a pool formed by rainwater in the middle of the grasslands and cattle and horses are grazing on the grasslands. You can see a variety of scenery throughout the year. In this vast grassland of 20,000 hectares, taking a leisurely walk on the green grassland, watching free cattle and sheep, and breathing the fresh air in the mountains can make you feel relaxed and refreshed, and give you the illusion of being in a fairyland.

3

Facing the vast Kusasenri, the Aso Volcano Museum focuses on "Aso Volcano" and displays the topography, geology, animals, and plants of Aso. It houses a wealth of fascinating materials related to the history of Aso Volcano. You can not only observe the formation process of Aso Volcano through a three-dimensional model, but also gain valuable information about other volcanoes in Japan and the world. The museum's latest camera system also provides live video of Nakadake Crater.

4

Aso Shrine (about 30 - 40 minutes, free time)

Aso Shrine is located on the northern side of Aso Mountain in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is a shrine in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is a famous Shikinai Shrine (a well-known shrine), the first in Higo Province, and its former shrine was ranked as Kanpei Taisha (now listed in the Shrine Agency's Bekkaku Jinja). It is the main shrine of 450 Aso Shrines in Japan.

Aso Shrine has a history of 2,500 years. The main gods enshrined are 12 gods led by Kenkuninomikoto, the grandson of Emperor Jimmu and the founder of the history of Aso. It is considered a significant cultural asset of Japan.

6

Kurokawa Onsen is a hot spring town with dreamy scenery and a lot of delicious food (about an hour and a half, free time, hot spring bathing fees are at your own expense).

Kumamoto has many natural hot springs, but none are as famous as the Kurokawa Onsen. There are about 30 hot spring inns in this mountain town. The retro inns with a black-based color are neatly arranged and the scenery is quite impressive. The picturesque river flowing through the town, thick vegetation, and steam from the hot springs create a dreamlike view for tourists. The best thing about the hot spring town is the open-air baths that take advantage of the beautiful landscape.

In the "100 Selected Hot Springs in Japan" published by the Tourism Economy Newspaper in 2008, Kurokawa Onsen was ranked first in the "Atmosphere" category. In the "Michelin Guide Japan" in 2009, it was rated as a two-star hot spring area.
