The walking tour departs from The Westin Hotel in Lower Long Street at 9:00am as we make our way to the Bartolomeu Dias monument in Adderley Street Cape Town Central. The tour guide will share stories about this important figure in South Africa's history.
From there we proceed to the monuments of Jan Van Riebeeck and Zacharias Wagenaer, before we continue past the Castle of Good Hope. As one of the oldest building in South Africa, built between 1666 and 1679, the Castle of Good Hope has been the center of civilian, political and military life at the Cape from approximately 1679. We continue on this walking tour of Cape Town city centre, past the City Hall where Nelson Mandela made his first speech as a free man. From the City Hall we take a walk past Parliament, the Slave Lodge, Company Gardens, Cathedral, St. Georges Mall and Greenmarket Square. Our last attraction will be in the Bo-Kaap where we will take some photos with the colourful houses.
The tour culminates with lunch at AfroDeli Eatery in Long Street or Meeting Point in Strand Street. This is a wonderful way to experience authentic African cuisine. Once you have completed your lunch, you and your tour group will part ways after an interesting 5 hours.
Our tour guide will be waiting infront of the entrance of the CTICC (Cape Town International Convention Centre) opposite the Westin Hotel in Lower Long Street. He/she will be holding a sign board that says "Kabura Travel & Tours".
