Your day begins with a personal pick-up by your English-speaking driver from your hotel, villa, or preferred meeting point. Settle into a premium air-conditioned vehicle as we leave the city behind and head west along Crete’s scenic coastline.

09:30 – Arrival at Balos Viewpoint (or Hiking Drop-off).

You may stop at the Balos Panorama viewpoint — perfect for photos and admiring the lagoon from above. A 20–30 minute downhill walk leads to the lagoon itself.

10:00 – 12:30 – Free Time at Balos Lagoon
Enjoy 2–2.5 hours at one of Greece’s most iconic beaches. Swim in the shallow turquoise waters, explore the unique lagoon landscape, or relax on the white-pink sand. Your driver will provide umbrellas, towels, and water for your comfort.

Note: Balos is a protected natural area - there are no shops, sunbeds, or toilets. This is nature in its purest form.

13:30 – Visit & Wine Tasting at Pnevmatikakis Winery
Next, we visit the family-owned Pnevmatikakis Winery in Drapanias. The estate is known for its dedication to traditional Cretan varieties and warm hospitality. You'll enjoy:

By car (SUV only) via a 9 km dirt road from Kaliviani + 20–30 min downhill walk.
Walking difficulty: Moderate. To reach the beach, a 20–30 min downhill walk (and return uphill later) is required. Comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.
No beach facilities: There are no sunbeds, cafes, or restrooms at the lagoon. We provide umbrellas and bottled water for your comfort.
Environmental protection zone: Balos is part of the NATURA 2000 network. Littering, collecting shells, or damaging the natural environment is strictly prohibited.
Weather matters: Strong winds are frequent. On very windy days, the visit might be adjusted for safety.
