Cabo Girão viewpoint, situated on the highest promontory in Europe, at an elevation of 580 m, offers a vertiginous view of the fajãs of Rancho and Cabo Girão – small areas of cultivated land at the foot of the cliff – as well as magnificent panoramic views over the ocean and the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.

The Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint is approximately 355 meters above sea level. From this point there is a splendid panoramic view over Funchal bay and the city area, with the Desertas Islands in the background.

The Eira do Serrado Viewpoint is situated 1096 meters above sea level, where we can enjoy a magnificent view over the Nun's Valley and the great mountains of the central massif that surround it. This belvedere was built in 1962. Access to the viewpoint it is made by a path that starts at the Inn of Eira do Serrado.

Curral das Freiras - Nuns Valley is a small parish nestling between almost perpendicular mountains in the heart of the island.
