Zoo Negara (National Zoo)
Officially opened on 14th November 1963 and has turned into a well-known zoo all around the world. 5 km from the city of Kuala Lumpur, Zoo Negara covers 110 acres around the central lake.

Zoo Negara has transformed itself to an open concept zoo which is over 90% of its animal being kept in spacious landscape befitting its nature. 5137 specimens from various species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish from over Asia and Africa.
Giant Panda since 21st May 2014 Zoo Negara became Home for two giant pandas named Xing Xing (male) and Liang Liang (female) hailing from Sichuan, China. Both giant pandas were born 23rd August 2006. On 18th August 2015, Xing Xing and Liang Liang get new baby giant panda named Nuan Nuan which means “warm” in Chinese. Nuan Nuan was born less than 15 months after her parents arrived in Malaysia. Liang Liang gave birth to the second Malaysian panda cub on 14th January 2018.
