About this experience
Salsomaggiore Terme, a small city a few kilometers to the west of Parma, is the seat of a wellness tradition that goes back to the half of XIX Century. Then, the first thermal bath was established to exploit the healing properties of local waters, known by the ancient Romans as well.
This unique tour will allow you to dive into the unsurpassed Déco splendors of the Congress Palace (formerly Grand Hotel des Thermes) and the "Berzieri" Spa, just before the unforgettable experience of a full day treatment in one of the most ancient and iconic thermal baths in Italy.

The main and most ancient thermal establishment in Salsomaggiore are dedicated to Lorenzo Berzieri, the doctor who discovered the healing properties of local waters in 1839. The building was completed in 1923 and is an amazing example of Déco style, with Oriental influences. A private guide will show its main features, including the precious sculptures and decorative paintings by Galileo Chini; afterwards, the guests will have the chance to relax in the Spa, experiencing the treatments.

Formerly named "Grand Hotel des Thermes", the Congress Palace of Salsomaggiore is another impressive example of Déco architecture, designed by the same makers of thermal baths "Berzieri". A private guided tour will lead the guests to discover the gorgeous interiors, from the Moresque Salon to the "Red Tavern", which hosted celebrities, artists and royals.
