At the request of the Brotherhood of Clergy in 1753, Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni presented the project for a bell tower. The works began in 1754 and in July 1763, with the placement of the iron cross at the top and the image of São Paulo in the niche above the door, its construction was finally completed.
Baroque in style, the Clérigos Tower is undoubtedly the ex-libris of the city and an excellent viewpoint. More than 75 meters high, climbing the 225 steps and reaching the top of the tower, you can see the city from a 360 ° perspective.
The origins of the Lello Bookstore date back to 1881, when the brothers José and António Lello opened in Porto an establishment dedicated to the commerce and publishing of books.
At that time, the Lello brothers settled in Rua do Almada, unaware that the building that would bear its name until the next millennium was a few blocks away.
It is in 1894 that José Lello buys the Chardron Bookstore, along with all his estate.
On January 13, 1906, the Lello Bookstore building opens as we know it today,
