The tour begins at the main archway entrance, facing the towering 42-meter golden statue of Lord Murugan, the Hindu god of war, wisdom, and love. You’ll walk through the temple square, past colorful shrines and busy food stalls, before tackling the famous 272 rainbow-colored steps that lead to the Cathedral Cave. Along the way, you’ll encounter troops of mischievous macaques and observe devotees carrying offerings and fulfilling their spiritual duties.
