The excursion begins with the ascent to Pico da Barrosa (one of the highest peaks of the Island, 850 m high), along the south coast, on a road with a panoramic view over the central part of the Island.
The first stop is to provide an exuberant view over Lagoa do Fogo, the second largest lagoon on the island of São Miguel and one of the largest in the Azores. Classified, since 1074, as Nature Reserve.
The trip continues with a short walk along Caldeira Velha, one of the Island's Natural Reserves, where you can not only admire the natural beauty of this Reserve but also enjoy a bath in a hot waterfall.
Stop in the historical center of the city of Ribeira Grande where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the famous liquors produced with fruits of the island in Fábrica de Licore Eduardo Ferreira e Filhos Lda. Return to the Hotel.
