Private Tour: Ipoh Secrets Full Day Heritage & Orang Utan Island (OUI) Tour starts with pick up from any location of your choice within Ipoh or Taiping.

The drive from Ipoh to OUI takes roughly 1.5 hours.

We will catch the first boat into the island. You will walk through the semi-circle steel-fence tunnel enclosure where we humans, seemingly in a cage, can peer out and be captivated by the orangutans roaming free beyond in the trees, on the grass, by the bushes, or by the lake.

The guide from Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation will be explaining all the details of this endangered animal, so be sure to follow him/her while they move from point to point.

*The visit into the island is around 60 minutes
**In the event that Orang Utan Island had low water level/closure, we will replace it with a visit to the heritage town of Taiping

Here you'll be awed by these humongous incense made for ceremonial purpose, usually lit up during bigger festivals for the Chinese community. You'll get to see how the workers work from piece to piece, adding layers and colors which some takes months to complete.

About 15 minutes drive away to the mangrove forest, here you'll be stopping at a charcoal factory. You'll learn more of this industry and the method they used to produce wood charcoal in a huge dome-shaped igloo like kiln.
