We travel to the beautiful "Heaven and Earth" Wine Region in Hermanus. The journey has us traveling over two mountain passes and through the Apple and Stone fruit region of Elgin before we descend into the wine valley.

We are traveling to the "Heaven and Earth" wine valley in the Walker Bay region about 1.5 hours drive from Cape Town known for their superb award winning whites and also great Pinot Noir country!
Our first stop is at Bouchard Finlayson lying in a framed by mountains with views of the ocean, the vineyard is surrounded by pristine indigenous Fynbos flora . World renowned for their Pinot Noir other cultivars include Chardonnay,Savignon Blanc,Sangiovese,Chenin Blanc and Riesling as well as unusual varietals of Nebbiolo,Barbera,and Mouverdre .
The blend of old and new can be found in their approach to wine-making with a mix of Stainless steel and concrete tanks to their wine styles.
Our next stop is at Newton Johnson Vineyards where their philosophy of wine-making is to allow the wine to follow a natural path rejecting commercial additives. Our tasting is on the deck overlooking the valley with views of vineyards and the ocean in the distance
Our third stop is high up on the scenic Hemel en Aarde Ridge at Creation wines where we sample their Tasting Menu of food and wine pairings
Our return journey is via the scenic coastal drive where we often spot Whales,seals and dolphins. Plenty of opportunity for amazing photos !
