About this experience

Our Private Tour combines the famous Cliffs of Moher located in the Burren National Park's unique landscape, together with a stop at a one local Traditional Cottage Industry of your choice. All visits include an additional tour by the in-house experts you will meet.

You can choose following cottage industries: A sheep Farm with Sheep herding Demonstration; The Burren Perfumery, Sean's Bar and Whisky Producer (oldest in Ireland); or a Traditional Woolen Mill.

Among the many other sites you will see are Castles, Beautiful Irish Villages, and of course some of the most spectacular west coast drives.

Centre of County Clare, this region puts the 'wild' in The Wild-Atlantic-Way and your knowledgeable Guide will explain all the History behind its impressive 'lunar' landscape which was formed millions of years ago when the area was underneath the sea. We stop at some of the most beautiful spots to admire views, a plethora of wildflowers which cover the area, and the flights of the seagulls. Further out, you will sea the Aran Islands from which Aran wool originates, as well as the famous handmade Aran-Wool Sweaters produced in many of their little wind swept cottages

Stop 3

No visit to the West Coast is complete without seeing the Cliffs. Standing over 220 meters high and running for 12km this stunning coastal attraction is a wonderful walk & observatory for the thousands of seabirds who make it their home. The first observatory was constructed here in 1835 and today this site attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually because of its incredible views of the twelve Bens, the Aran Islands and the Atlantic Ocean. We also take time for the nearby Visitor Center.

The famous wild Atlantic way covers some 2000 km spanning seven of Ireland's Counties. Along this varied route there are many highlights with the Black Head Loop being one of the most renowned due to the dramatic Burren landscapes set against the Atlantic Sea Coastal views.

SHEEP FARM AND SHEEP HERDING DEMONSTRATION OPTION
Hidden away in the Burren valley, Caherconnell has been in the same family for over 5 generations. During our visit you will see an authentic farm experience intimately connected to the Burren, and enjoy the working sheepdogs demonstrating their skill in a place of calm amongst the Burren landscape. There is also a 5000 year old fort to discover as well as a café with an array of local delicacies.

BURREN PERFUMERY OPTION
If selecting this option during booking you will visit Burren Perfumery. The Burren is home to over 70% or Ireland's more than 1000 species of wild flower, which are the origin and inspiration of this specialist boutique perfumery and cosmetics maker which is family run and includes a tea room, herb garden and blending room. Everything is handmade on site with organic local produce so during your visit you will be able to see and learn all the secrets of perfumery making for yourself.

SEAN'S BAR OPTION
Sean's Bar in the pretty town of Athlone, was established in AD 900 and is the oldest bar in Ireland. Meet the proprietor who's Historial research has also shown the origin of Whiskey production and has recreated the original Whisky recipe which you can sample (drinks additional cost).

WOOLEN MILL OPTION
Located in the village of Tuamgraney in the beautiful Lough Derg Region of Ireland's Hidden Heartlands, a visit will include a private tour where you will learn about both the Historic and Contemporary production of Irish fine wool produce.
