In Figueres, Dalí left his marks in his own museum, built upon the ruins of the old municipal theatre. The building is considered as the largest work of Surrealist Art in the world. Ask yourself: What other museum is studded with plaster-covered croissants?

The tour will continue to the Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol. The artist chose this magnificent medieval structure as his canvas and created a place of refuge for his beloved Gala. After the Gothic-Renaissance palace was carefully restored, Dalí began to furnish it personally. He also designed the mausoleum crypt where his wife and muse is now buried, inside the castle.

After taking a break to admire this romantic gesture of love, we will continue to the Platja del Castell. This quaint cove is set in a beautiful natural environment, remaining untouched by human development for thousands of years. The shimmering sandy beach is surrounded by pine forests, completely natural with no buildings in sight. The nearby mansion Mas Juny has hosted countless parties since the 1920´s, attracting international artists and actors, including Dalí himself.
