Your tour begins with hotel pickup early in Cancun or Riviera Maya. Board a vehicle and drive to Chichen Itza and arrive at approximately 10:30am. Chichén Itzá was a center of commercial and religious power and is considered one of the most important vestiges of pre-Hispanic culture. See its main landmarks, including El Castillo. Explore the site with your guide for 2-hours.
After, your driver will be waiting to take you to the Sacred Blue Cenote of Ik Kil (place of the winds), where you can swim in the waters of this natural well inside a cave covered with lush vegetation. Then, enjoy a lunch buffet at the cenote's restaurant.
After lunch, head to the lodge where the Temazcal takes place. Your arrival is slated for 5-6:00pm, the best time to enjoy this unique experience, which will start with an introductory talk from the "temazcalero" guide, who will answer questions, followed by a salute around the fire. After a small cleaning ceremony with the copal and aromatic herbs, you will enter the temazcal and start experiencing the heat of the volcanic rock and its red light in the darkness. The aroma of herbs and copal will allow you to feel at ease, purify the body and create space to get rid of bad energies and purify intentions. Using aromatic herbs, mud, honey, aloe vera and refreshing teas, the temazcalero will guide you through four intervals of increasing and decreasing heat (by opening the door of the temazcal), and enjoy the curative powers along with songs and musical instruments.
At any moment, you may leave the temazcal or ask the guide to increase or reduce heat. This experience will allow you to find a space of positive and curative energies towards the body and spirit, as well as relaxation. All of this is done in a healthy and safe place. Afterward, relax in a hammock and at the end of the excursion you will have a light dinner with tropical fruits and natural drinks.
Leave Temazcal at 7-8pm and arrive back in Cancun between 9 and 10:00pm.
