The reefs of the Maldives are famous for reef sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, sting rays, and more. This 3-hour tour with TripAdvisors' leading Hulhumale tour company takes you to three snorkeling spots filled teeming with marine life and colorful coral — an ideal escape from the capital area of Male or Hulhumale. Discover the underwater world of the Maldives with an experienced and certified snorkeling guide.
Your snorkel guide will not only act as your ‘spotter’ to point out marine life that may not have caught your eye, but will assist less confident or inexperienced snorkelers, ensuring your equipment is comfortable and you feel safe in the water.
Through education of both guests and locals we strive to protect the environment in which we operate and limit wherever possible any negative impact preserving this country's unique location for generations to come.
Private Tours on request.
3 hour snorkeling excursion. Depart Hulhumale by speedboat 09:30
Tour is not suitable if you are staying on a private island resort.
For tours including snorkeling please ensure you have shared your shoe size in Euro in order that we can have correct fin sizes available for you.
Things to bring:
Refillable water bottle, beach towel, water resistant reef friendly sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, snacks, money for personal expenditure.
We do provide snorkeling equipment on all our tours but please feel free to bring along your own mask and snorkel. Not only will you be assured your mask fits your face properly and is comfortable and less likely to have leakage, it will also lower any health associated risks. We find that peace of mind goes a long way.
For all water based activities we would advise wherever possible for your belongings to be in a ‘dry bag’ and to bring only the minimum requirement. It is also advisable if you intend to take a taxi or bus following your tour to carry a set of dry clothing.
What to wear:
Swimwear for water based activities, we recommend the use of a rash guard or t-shirt whilst snorkeling, loose lightweight clothing, sunglasses, sun hat, comfortable footwear.
PLEASE TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY
The following are a few simple tips that require very little effort on your part but which will help ensure that any effect you have on the locations you visit is positive rather than negative.
• Conserve energy: Be careful not to waste valuable resources. Use local resources sparingly. Switch off lights, air conditioning and fans when you leave the hotel room and don’t waste water.
• The Maldives has far less efficient waste disposal systems than you will be used to. Remove packaging from newly acquired items before leaving home.
• Choose environmentally friendly products: By using environmentally reef friendly (biodegradable) sun creams you can help reduce pollution.
• Refuse plastic straws at cafes and plastic bags when shopping.
• Do not touch or feed marine life and follow the Green Fin Snorkeling Principals.
