About this experience

This 6 hr tour includes a 90-minute Japanese Tea plantation visit at Moriuchi Tea Farm in Shizuoka City.

Moriuchi Tea Farm is run by a husband and wife team who are the ninth-generation owners of the farm, it has been in existence since the Edo Period. They are passionate about passing down their knowledge to others and preserving their family's heritage. You can explore a green tea plantation, try their unique brewed tea, and relax on the lookout with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji.

After your Tea Farm visit, you will go on a tour with our licensed guide in Shizuoka City. Your tour also includes a private vehicle and driver for the duration of the tour. You can customize your tour directly with the guide after placing your reservation.

It is run by a husband and wife team who are the ninth generation owners of the farm, it having been in existence since the Edo Period. They are passionate about passing down their knowledge to others and preserving their families heritage, and they welcome visitors to explore their farm.

The park grounds were once the location of Sumpu Castle, built by Tokugawa Ieyasu (1542–1616) in the late sixteenth century. All that remains of the original castle are some stone retaining walls, the stone foundations of the main tower, and portions of the moats.

Shizuoka Sengen Shrine is the name for a collective group of three shrines, the Kambe Shrine, Sengen Shrine, and Ohtoshimioya Shrine. It was worshiped as the Suruga Province Soja, and received the veneration of Tokugawa in the Edo era. The grand and brilliant main buildings are richly colored in urushi coating. 26 buildings have been designated as a national important cultural property.

he shrine has a history of over 400 years, and enshrines Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Tokugawa Shogunate in 1603 that brought peace to Japan for 265 years. The beautifully decorated shrine buildings were designated as a National Treasure in 2010.
