Let's explore and rediscover Ragusa, Modica and Scicli. The tour follows an itinerary which includes history, art, faith and culture. We invite you to spend one day visiting the greatest laboratory of Baroque urban development and its surroundings. Hundreds of churches scattered around, impressive basilicas, half-hidden small churches in crowded alleys, buildings with unusual architectural solutions, portals, stories about the ancient noble families, represent the precious heritage of the greatest flowering of Sicilian Baroque art, which makes these places, their atmosphere and their landscape really unique.

The tour begins in Ragusa Ibla with the visit of the baroque style historical centre. Ragusa ibla can be considered a real open-air museum, where the opulence of the Iblean baroque coexists in synergy with the nature of the iblei mountains.
Here we will admire the wonderful Saint George’s Cathedral in Piazza Duomo, The "Portale di San Giorgio", a wonderful arch in in Catalan Gothic style dating back to the 1400s, the beautiful "Giardino Ibleo" and many buildings in baroque style.
We continue to Modica, whose historical centre (Modica bassa), is also in Baroque style. The two Cathedrals, San Giorgio, which dominates the village from the top of the hill and San Pietro, located down along the main street, are both extraordinary exemples of the Sicilian Baroque. We will make a stop at the ancient chocolate shop Bonajuto to assist the explanation of the process to make the typical local chocolate, made according to an ancient recipe of the Aztecs brought to Sicily by Spaniards during their domination. Free tasting of chocolate is included!
We will end up with the visit of the fascinating village of Scicli, where, once again, the main architectural style is Baroque. We cross the fascinating landscape rich in steep limestone walls, carob trees, low walls, small churches and quarries, and we come to the sight of what we would call a gem in the heart of Sicily. We start the walking city tour with the Chiafura Archaeological Park, where will be possible to see the caves dug into the limestone rock where many families still lived until the middle of the last century. Then starting from The San Bartolomeo Church we will across the town center rich in baroque style palaces and churches that made Scicli became part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
