The village of Imlil, sometimes called “Small Chamonix,” is in the Al Haouz's province, in the region of Marrakech-Safi, Morocco. At the altitude of 1,740 meters and near the national park of Toubkal, is the starting point for the ascent of Mount Toubkal, the tallest mountainin Morocco and North Africa at 4,167 meters. We reach Imlil from Marrakesh (64 km) via Asni and Taroudant by the Tizi-n-Test Pass.

During the trip we will visit the traditional markets of the area: the most famous are Asni (Saturday) and Tahanaout (Thursday). We stop at the oil cooperatives of Argan, run entirely by women from the valley, and we see the manual preparation of the oil from the nuts. Although argan trees do not grow in this region, nuts are processed here to produce cooking oil and cosmetics, soaps, creams and a bread sauce known as Amlou. (Possibility to buy these items if you wish). Cooperatives are aimed at supporting widowed, divorced or unemployed women in the local region.
You can also visit the famous Kasbah Tamadot, owned by Sir Richard Bronson, the British entrepreneur, known for his success with the Virgin Group, which controls more than 400 companies, including Virgin Records and numerous retail chains of sand airlines. . In the village of Imlil, we meet our local guide who will take you to the south to cross the Berber villages with views of the old terraced fields irrigated with barley, corn and vegetables; Surrounded by almond and walnut trees. You can also ride a mule and go through Berber villages and enjoy the breathtaking views of the countryside. We will enjoy a typical Moroccan Tajine lunch cooked over an open fire in a Berber house, followed by Moroccan mint tea for digestion. Then we return to Marrakech in the afternoon.
