The itinerary begins after a 2-hour drive from Cartagena, in the town square of San Jacinto, where our local guide will be waiting to show us a house that will villagers have turned into a museum, where they expose the findings of the ceramics of its first settlers, considered to be the oldest in America (6,000 years old), its
current traditions, crafts, music and the mark that the massacres of the war left.
The journey continues, but this time aboard a 4x4 vehicle until reaching the El Rastro stream, where we will walk through the tropical rain forest for approximately an hour, surrounded by
butterflies, flowers and waterfalls until reaching the petroglyphs, which are figures that the tribe Zenú carved on the stones to represent their gods and perform their rituals. In this place
find a natural crystalline pool in which we can take a refreshing bath, to then start the way back, this time on dry land (30 min) towards a kiosk where We will enjoy a typical sancocho in the company of the peasants of the area and rest in hammocks. Back in town we will visit the house of one of the artisans and we will see how with their looms can create wonderful pieces and even learn to weave with them.
Before returning to Cartagena it is time to say goodbye to San Jacinto and we will do this by taking a cup of coffee grown on their land by the Cerro Maco community project.
