Cathedral Waterfalls' 1-day Eco-adventure - a spiritual connection to nature. Stunning waterfalls, rainforest, blue rivers, natural hot springs, mud bathing, botanical gardens, butterfly gardens and much more– unique in Costa Rica.

Be picked-up at your hotel arriving in the rainforest on the Caribbean side of Rincon de la Vieja volcano, at Blue River Resort & Hot Springs. After a welcome cocktail choose a long or short hike to Cathedral Waterfalls with your bi-lingual guide to showcase the abundant nature. Return for a delicious lunch, then enjoy 3 gorgeous natural hot springs pools, fresh-water pools, bullet waterslide, natural mud bath & sauna, butterfly farm, botanical gardens. Be on the lookout for sloths, howler monkeys, toucans; relax by the hummingbird sanctuary or along lagoons and ponds with fish, turtles and caiman; hang out with miniature horses and donkeys and much more. At 4 pm, return, full of life-long memories to recount, long after returning home.

Detailed itinerary

Horseback ride or on foot through the rain forest to reach Cathedral Waterfalls, an amazing site on the blue river, Rio Azul. Walk along a bridge parallel to the river and swim in the special mineral waters (conditions permitting).

While travelling to Rincon de la Vieja National Park's north (Caribbean side), the geography transforms into a lush rain forest with views of mountain ranges. We will pass by a windmill farm, blue rivers, locals on horseback and views of the smoking volcano crater in the park.

Here there will be time for a mud bath and natural sauna, hot springs (3 natural mineral pools and 2 fresh water pools), botanical gardens (with bird sanctuaries and ponds for turtles, fish and a caiman) , butterfly gardens, lunch and more.
