About this experience

* Today you will visit the old city, the capital of the island on foot with your guide. You will take photos of historical sights that remain till today from Byzantion, Lusignan, Venetian and Ottoman period while you listen to the history from your guide.

One of the oldest gate to enter the walled city of Nicosia

It was built in 1900 by the Ottoman Saban Pasa. 72 houses were given to the people who were in need. You will see the cistern in the centre.

It was brought to Nicosia from the ancient city of Salamis during the Venetian Period. The symbol of St. Mark Lion was on the top of the pillar. Your guide will tell you all about its story.

It was built as a Cathedral by Lusignans.Thypical Gothic style. When Ottomans came to island in 1570 they added minarets and converted into a Mosque. It was known as Ag. Sophia Mosque until 1956 and afterwards named Selimiye Mosque.

It was built in 1572 by Muzaffer Pasha. It has a cistern and mescit in the centre.Nowadays its one of the nicest tourist attractions. You can strech your legs while you enjoy the taste of the Cypriot coffee with the traditional borek.....
