Tour to Waqrapukara: If you are tired of traditional tours happening in Cusco, experience this full-day excursion to an imperial attraction known as Waqrapukara; Waqra means horn and Pukara is equivalent to watch-tower in the Quechua language, then this was a horn-shaped Militar watch-tower built back in the Inca period, it’s located on top of top of a steep mountain at 4,300 m a.s.l.
We will pick you up early in the morning at about 4:30 am in your hotel and drive for around 3 hours to the southeast of Cusco, we will arrive at a small village known as Chuquicahuana where we will have some local breakfast.
Afterward, we will ride towards a small village known as Rinconada, and from this place, we will start our adventure on foot. We will walk uphill for around 2.5 hours to reach Waqrapukara archaeological site, where you will have a mind-blowing experience.

To begin the tour to Waqrapukara, we will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. and head south to admire the Pomacanchi Lagoon.
Continuing the tour, we will arrive at Sangarara, where we will have breakfast and then continue to the community of Rinconada, where we will begin the hike to Waqrapukara.
On this hike, we will observe a wide variety of flora and fauna typical of the area until we reach the archaeological site of Waqrapukara. Upon arrival, we will participate in a coca leaf ritual led by our guide. We will also visit the following sites: Intipunku (Sun Gate), the main square, towers, terraces, the Wiracocha site, and cave paintings.
After visiting Waqrapukara, we will begin the return trip to Sangarara, where we will have lunch and board our transportation back to Cusco.
