All over the island, there are more than 7000 nuraghes, singular and peculiar buildings. The megalithic fortress built with enormous stones and with a particular charm. Looking at them means having a lot of questions that deserve to be answered. Who built them? What was their function?
If you want to discover with us more about those remarkable fortresses, Su Nuraxi of Barumini is a must-see. Part of the UNESCO Heritage since 1997, this nuraghe is the best example to understand the most ancient and mysterious history of Sardinia.
We will also discover one of the Domus the Janas of the area, also known as the fairy houses, rock-hewn rooms that are examples of prehistoric funerary art.
After a visit to Su Nuraxi and to the Domus the Janas, we will also reach Casa Zapata, a noble ancient residence of the Sardinian-Aragonese barons, nowadays hosting a small Archaeological Museum.
