This is a great, year round, offering for rain or shine. We will Start with a vehicle tour through the city then go to the 800 year clan estate of Shimadzu. Beautiful gardens, UNESCO heritage site, Samurai buildings, and hidden walkways that are straight out of a movie. We will also explore the museum and learn about the history of the clan and industrialization with armor, cannons, stone work, and much more!
Then we stop by a beach view coffee shop and take in the views of the volcano sakurajima from a safe distance. A quick train ride will take us to the main train station and a lunch of Kagoshima wagyu and explore the main city center. From there, depending on time and group interest, we can see Japanese shopping, the riverwalk if cherry blossoms are in season, or just take the scenic street train back to the port.

After leaving the Clad Estate, we will take in views of the beach and the volcano Sakurajima of course from a safe distance. There are a few coffee shops and a chance to dip our toes in or just relax for 20 minutes so long as we didn't enjoy too much of the Samurai Estate..
Of course, we will eat amazing Kagoshima food! We will be eating some of the highest-ranked wagyu in Japan and enjoying this paradise we love. The meal is a well-rounded course, including salad, veggies, soup, marbleized wagyu, tea, and dessert. Depending on how much time we have we may also see some shopping, a riverwalk where the cherry blossoms grow, or taking in some views from the main train station.
We will see the city via street car as we head back to the port area. Depending on time and group preference we may also have a chance to see some Japanese souvenir spots. The first priority i getting back with plenty of time for the ship.
After lunch we will work our way to the historic downtown area of Kagoshima where we will see landmark Japanese institutions, have tea and Japanese cakes or deserts.
