3
Stop 3

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.
The original entrance to the Great Pyramid is on the north, 17 meters (56 ft.) vertically above ground level and 7.29 meters (23.9 ft.) east of the centerline of the pyramid. From this original entrance, there is a Descending Passage 0.96 meters (3.1 ft.) high and 1.04 meters (3.4 ft.) wide, which goes down at an angle of 26° 31'23" through the masonry of the pyramid and then into the bedrock beneath it. After 105.23 meters (345.2 ft.), the passage becomes level and continues for an additional 8.84 meters (29.0 ft.) to the lower Chamber, which appears not to have been finished. There is a continuation of the horizontal passage in the south wall of the lower chamber; there is also a pit dug in the floor of the chamber.

4
Stop 4

Sakkara, located only 27 km southwest away from Cairo. Visit the Step Pyramid (Built for king Zoser), which is considered an important part of the process of the pyramid evolution, which was made from the simple mastaba to its widely known form. (2 hrs Time Spent)

Stop 5

The Pyramid of Djoser, or Step Pyramid, is an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt, northwest of the city of Memphis. The 6-tier, the 4-sided structure is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. It was built in the 27th century BC during the Third Dynasty for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser

6

The mastaba of Mereruka is the largest and most elaborate of all the non-royal tombs in Saqqara with 33 rooms or chambers in total. Mereruka was the vizier to king Teti, who was the first pharaoh of the 6th dynasty Old Kingdom period of Egypt

7
Stop 7

Dahshur pyramids were an extremely important learning experience for the Egyptians. It provided them with the knowledge and know-how to transition from steep-sided pyramids to smooth-sided pyramids. Ultimately their breadth of experience would allow them to build the Great Pyramid of Giza; the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing to this date.
