About this experience

Embark on a full day historical tour to Petropolis, the Imperial city. Named after the Emperor of Brazil, the city is famous for its deep connection with the Imperial Brazilian Family. The chilly weather caught the attention of the Monarchy and the place quickly became their summer paradise.
Starting with hotel pickup, we take the 2-hour drive to Petrópolis. We may stop on the way on the Casa do Alemão, a traditional delicatessen with European-inspired snacks. Take the time to plan the itinerary with the tour guide.
There are plenty to see in this historical tour. We stop at the Imperial Museum (if available) and take a tour through the clothing, furniture and jewelry of the Orleans e Bragança Family. It is a private tour, so you may choose what to do next. We can visit the Cathedral of Saint Peter, the home of Santos Dumont (entrance not included) or do some shopping at the Rua Teresa. It is really up to you! After you have enjoyed this tailor-made tour, we hit the road back to Rio.
