No experience is necessary to join this professionally guided kayak trip. Bowman Bay is the perfect place for beginners to feel comfortable paddling on the sea. Although this trip is conducted in Deception Pass State Park we avoid the turbulent water near the bridge which is more suitable for expert kayakers. Bowman Bay is located on Fidalgo Island and offers a peaceful place for kayakers of all ages and abilities. Just outside the bay participants are treated to expansive views of Fidalgo Island and the rest of the San Juan islands.
Drive down Bowman Bay Road to the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Take a left. As you enter the large parking area you will notice our kayak shed under the trees on the East side of the parking lot. Park where you like and come meet us!
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Waivers must be filled out and signed before participation.
Bring water-compatible shoes, and dress for the weather. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Please bring something to protect your electronics and other valuables from water damage.
