Stop 1

This tour is conducted by Truly Old Delhi Locals living in Old Delhi. In this tour, you will experience local culture, see some hidden heritage treasures, walk through the local bazaar and interact with different business owners who are there from several generations, sample some safe street food and visit a Haveli for a traditional home cooked complimentary meal.

You will get an opportunity to get introduced with local life on the street and also get to know the life of locals behind the doors by visiting visiting Masterji Kee Haveli -an Old Private Mansion in the old city in which single family is living from generations. You will take a walk through a Whole sale & local bazaars. You will experience the markets & meet with established merchants selling truly Indian fare. The market sells everything round the year.

Khari Baoli (Spice Market) is a street where your senses will get alive This is Asia's largest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, nuts, herbs and food products like rice and tea. Operating since the 17th century, the market is situated at the western end of the Old Delhi.

Strongly suggest taking the Metro train ( Yellow Line ) from the nearest metro station to your hotel or using Uber Radio Taxi to come to this part of the city. If you are coming by your transport, you must ensure that you come from the Ajmeri gate side and your driver calls Tour Leader before he starts from the hotel to understand the location and meeting point. After the tour, we may help to drop you back at the same meeting point or coordinate with your driver / Uber and drop you back up to your car at Hamdard building, Asaf Ali Road accordingly.
What to wear: Because of the little conservative society in Old Delhi - Ladies, please dress modestly, carry a scarf if possible (wear clothes which cover your shoulders and your legs up to the knee at least, Please ensure you are carrying a cap for adequate protection against the sun. Usually, you must take off footwear to visit Indian houses but check with your host as this rule may apply only to some areas of the house.
Warning based on some recent incidents: There are many shops as Government Tourist Office in the city, but they are not the real ones, they are impostors. Govt. Tourist has only one office, which is at Janpath Road. If someone tells us, that the tour is canceled or the area is closed today because of some demonstration, request not to get into any kind of stories.
