Detailed itinerary

1

We will start our tour at the Ohrid Central Square that has the name of the Ohrid patron St. Clement.

2

The portraits of the six Roman popes are painted inside the church, which reflects the relations between the Eastern and the Western church before the schism in 1054. The bare-foot Christ as well as the cycle of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, are some of the rarities that make the gallery of St. Sophia a unique gallery of paintings. Its magnificent architecture is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Byzantine architecture in general.

3

Today, the exhibits are presented in the historical house of the richest family in Ohrid, Robev family, built 1863-1864. The biggest part of the museum consists of an archaeological collection that presents the archaeological treasure from the region of the city.

It is near one of the main entrances to the fortified city – the Upper Gate, from where one may capture and enjoy in the unforgettable breath-taking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The theater dates from around 1-st century BC.
