Taormina's most famous landmark is the Greek Theater, built in the 3rd century BC. It was built under Hieron II of Syracuse. Completely rebuilt with all the features of a Roman theater under Roman rule in the 2nd century BC.

The Greco Theatre of Ancient Rome is one of the most representative structures in the city. Built in the 3rd century BC, it has been continuously used for over 2000 years and contains many different styles. It encompasses a theater-an amphitheater with a cavea (seating) for about 6,000 spectators and an opus reticulatum (roof) that rests on 14 columns. The visit will be from the outside.
