The iconic ancient Roman aqueduct has more than 160 arches, most in dry-joint granite, and stands above Plaza Azoguejo in the center of the city.

The wall of Avila is a Romanesque military fence that surrounds the old town of the Spanish city of Avila, capital of the homonymous province, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. The wall, together with the old town and several churches located outside the walls, were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985.
