Detailed itinerary

1

Your guide will pick you up at your centrally located accommodation in Venice and accompany you on a walk through the narrow streets of Venice, where you can breathe the atmosphere of an Italian city of the18th century, still extremely vital. Along the way, depending on your hotel location, you will explore churches, palaces and Campielli (Venician squares).
NOTE: you will have a meeting point if your location is far from the city center or on an island.

2
Stop 2

Rialto is a picturesque area of Venice with the ancient fish market shadowed by the majestic Rialto Bridge. On the sides of this marble monument, jewelers and other shops display their goods.

3
Stop 3

Piazza San Marco is the living room of Venice, a meeting place for tourists and Venetians. The Square is an open-air museum with the sea as a scenario. The bell tower, 324 feet high, is an exact copy of the tower, which suddenly collapsed in 1902. Together with the Basilica, it is one of the symbols of Venice. The magnificent clock tower was the platform for Galileo's studies. Two bronze "Moors" mark the hours with the same fifteenth-century mechanism on top. (tower and bell tower from the outside).

4

The Venice tour includes an off-the-beaten-track site beloved by the Venetians. This monumental staircase is a harmonious ensemble of the Renaissance, Gothic, and Venetian-Byzantine styles. Commissioned by Pietro Contarini in 1400 to flaunt the importance of its name, the Venetians added the nickname "del bovolo." The snail, whose shape it recalls, thus translates into Venetian. For those who wish, it is possible to climb it and enjoy a spectacular view over Venice's rooftops. We prefer to leave the climb as optional; you will decide on the spot whether to walk the 80 steps of the 26-meter high tower (8 euros for each participant).

5
Stop 5

Despite the total lack of architectural unity, the beauty of the Basilica is unique. The Byzantine influence is immediately evident and not only for the magnificent mosaics that decorate the facade and the entrance. Your private guide will tell you the history of the Saint and that of the Church. (visit from the outside)

6
Stop 6

You will admire a great architecture in the square, the Ducal Palace, once the Doge's residence, the governor of the ancient Serenissima Republic. The oriental style of its façade is the perfect casket to house masterpieces such as Tintoretto and Veronese works. You will admire the characteristic Bridge of Sighs. It was the access ramp for the condemned who sighed while admiring the view for the last time before being imprisoned in prisons. You will see the Place from outside. The Doge's Palace's visit is possible on request and will be included in the tour, inevitably sacrificing at least one hour of the walk.

7

LUNCH: Your private guide will accompany you to a selected restaurant for one one-hour lunch break at the end of the walking tour. You will enjoy a traditional lunch (included in the price: starter, main course, and water).

8
Stop 8

After lunch, your guide will bring you to the main islands of Venice, Murano, and Burano. Murano is a colorful and lively island. Your guide will take care of all the transfers and will explain all the secrets of Venice's enchanting islands.
Murano is world-famous for Venice glass. You will have the chance to see a glassmaker blowing into a tube to create whatever he wants, even one of those whimsical chandeliers.

9
Stop 9

Burano is picturesque with its multicolor houses along the canals. It is a paradise where inhabitants welcome you with flowers on their balcony and the art of “merletto” (a delicate lace). The drop-off will be at the closest dock to your accommodation in Venice or the train station/car parking.
