About this experience

This is our favorite hiking trail in Dubrovnik and one we take all our out of town friends on when they visit. It has everything - amazing views to Elaphite islands, Gruz harbour, Lapad peninsula, Lokrum island, and most importantly - Old Town Dubrovnik. It's a perfect tour for your first day in Dubrovnik because once you are up there, you will immediately know where everything is in Dubrovnik and its surroundings and will never have any orientation problems. Plus, our local guides will telly you a ton of interesting stories and give you all the recommendations that you need.

Detailed itinerary

Starting from the port at sea level, we will navigate narrow streets and staircases of socialist-era neighbourhood called Gruz until we reach the main highway. From there we continue up until we get to a single-track and start hiking "for real".

Stop 2 Pass by

Trail is beautiful and it provides amazing views to the harbor and Elaphite Islands with every step. We continue to the summit stopping along the way to rest, take photos and tell stories.

At the summit there is an old fort from Napoleon era, which nowadays serves as a Homeland War museum. Our guide will tell a personal story and his/hers view about the war and then you will have an option to visit the museum.

Stop 4 Pass by

After, we will have a much-deserved drink at the restaurant with a view of the Old Town, and a bit of a chat while watching the sun go down in the Adriatic. Even though we could stay here forever, there will come a point when we will need to start going downhill.

Stop 5 Pass by

We will finish our tour at Pile gate at around 9 p.m. Oftentimes the group will want to have a dinner together at the tour's end, and we will be at hand to provide some local knowledge and point you to the best places!
