Great easy photo stop or hike for 30 minutes up the trail towards the top. Visitors Center also.

fter lunch, we drive through the picturesque Hood River Valley. A stop at a local fruit stand lets you sample fresh, locally-grown cherries, berries, pears, and apples. As we ascend Mount Hood’s southeast flank, observe the transition from the dry eastside Cascades to the lush westside forests. Optionally, see a segment of the original Oregon Trail.

Arrive at the pinnacle of your tour, Timberline Lodge at 6,000 feet. Revel in the high alpine views of snow-capped Mount Hood and the surrounding Cascade Range. Explore the historic lodge, featured in the film “The Shining,” and enjoy trails with panoramic views.
