Detailed itinerary

1

Tikal means "place of voices". The biggest Mayan city so far known and studied. The park has an extension of 576 square kilometers. It was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1979. We can find and appreciate a great trace of what this site was, with more than 3,000 archeological elements, a city that inhabited between the pre-classical and classic periods. Of its temples and squares, the Plaza Mayor stands out, the heart of the Archaeological Park of Tikal and which is surrounded by Temples I (Temple of the Great Jaguar) and II (Temple of the Masks), the North and Central Acropolis. There is the Plaza of the Great Pyramid or Lost World, a group of monuments of the most ancient of Tikal and the Palace of the Windows, with a great quantity of interconnected rooms. Temple III or "Temple of the Jaguar Priest" has different carvings on its lintels.

2

The canopy covers a distance of 1.3 kilometers, a little less than a mile:
The first one includes 11 platforms and fixed cables of 75, 100 and 150 meters long, at an elevation of 25 meters above the forest floor...
The first cable is called the Adrenalin Rush, a 200-meter-long cable that connects 2 platforms that is very fast, fun and very safe... It is 40 meters above ground level, and you will "fly" over the road at one point and then go deep into the forest canopy, from one tree to another... The Tikal canopy tour consists of a total of 10 platforms that connect 9 cables or lines of 75, 100, 150 and 200 meters long at a height of 25 to 30 meters above the forest floor!
