Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Meet your private guide in the morning at your hotel or the train station for a start to your day exploring Agra. Visit The Taj Mahal (Unesco World Heritage Site) in the morning - an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. Spend your time contemplating the extravagant love that compelled Shah Jahan to build the monument to his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The magical allure of the Taj Mahal shall definitely be the highlight of your tour.

2
Stop 2

Visit Agra Fort (Unesco World Heritage Site), a red sandstone fort built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. is a historical fort along the bank of the Yamuna River in the city of Agra. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638 and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. The imposing red sandstone fort combines both Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. Walking through courtyard after courtyard of this palatial red-sandstone and marble fortress, your amazement grows as the scale of what was built here begins to sink in.

3

After visiting the Agra Fort enjoy your buffet lunch at a 5★ Hotel Courtyard by Marriott in a welcoming atmosphere.

4

Post lunch depart the city for the 1-hour drive to Fatehpur Sikri, the third World Heritage Site that you visit on the tour. The elegant walled 16th-century city's buildings remain largely intact to this day, and have been described as 'the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town,' Fatehpur Sikri was built in the late 16th century and was abandoned after only 14 years.

5

After visiting Fatehpur Sikri, return to Agra and wrap up your tour by shopping for marble and soft stone inlay handicrafts, in addition to other crafts. At the end of the day, your guide returns you to your hotel, Agra train station or other desired location in Agra.
