A unique phenomenon that has formed along the coastline is a stretch called Black Sand Beach: as the name implies, dark sands form a different type of beach scene yet adds to the variety where Langkawi is well-known for. The nearby fishing jetty is an authentic example of how fishing boats moored along Langkawi’s coast line to load off their fresh haul before making it back onto the open ocean.
Langkawi is tightly connected with the eagle: a symbol of endurance and perseverance that not only manifests itself when sailing along its rivers and through its mangroves (not included).
