Detailed itinerary

1

Handicraft has always been held in high regard; skilful artists still carry over passed-on traditions to the younger generation to uphold their cultural values, with batik taking a leading role. By using a combination of wax and dyes to make stunningly beautiful fabric, the often intricate end results are still widely seen in the daily lives of the Malaysians. Our tour continues driving uphill into the mountainous heart of Penang. This particular region is pleasantly cool, ideal for growing crops, fruits and spices. You will get an insight into how residents keep growing, year after year, the juiciest produce.

Street stalls are among the most preferred places to sample some of the fruits that are harvested around here; your guide will ensure that you will gain access to the most mouth-watering samples that will be in season that period. (1/2...)

2

(...2/2) Penang is also known as a centre for rubber tapping; an agricultural art form where you may get an up-and-close view on how tree saps turn in such common, everyday material.

Surrounding by gentle rolling hills, we follow the road that traverses along with Malay communities that still use authentic means of planting and harvesting. Undoubtedly, one will enjoy the serenity here as a sharp contrast compared to other places on this happening island. On our final stop during these exploratory hours on Penang is dedicated to a unique temple. One of the older religious shrines is home to pit viper snakes, believed of casting away the evil and bringing in the good. Before we head back to your hotel, one final refreshment, and a quick stop to sample and perhaps buy some local coffee products, rounds off these leisurely hours on Penang.
