About this experience

Peak Wilderness sanctuary is a tropical rain forest that spreads over a land of 224 square kilometers around the Sri Paada (Adam's Peak) mountain & is the third largest of the 50 sanctuaries in the country. Your route will be via Hatton (Hatton – Nallathanniya) and to climb down via Murray estate, which borders the peak wilderness sanctuary. It is one of the best hideouts in Sri Lanka which surrounds evergreen forests on the edge of the reserve. waking up in the middle of the night to trek is worthwhile and the sunrise is nothing short of spectacular.

Detailed itinerary

21: 30 - You will be picked up and transferred to Nallathanniya trail head by an air-conditioned vehicle.

01:30 - On arrival to Trail Head Your Nature Guide will give you a brief description of the route and start the hike. 

The ascent is done on foot through the forested mountainside on the steps built into it. Packed Dinner will be taken meanwhile. The greater part of the track leading from the base to the summit consists of thousands of steps built in cement or rough stones yet called “Mahagiridambe” meaning the great boulder or rock. After about another 01km, you are at the summit.

04: 45 – Reach to the top & resting time with refreshments

05:30 -   Viewing the moment of sunrise from top of Adams peak.

07:30 - Climbing down via Murray estate route. En route you will have your breakfast. .

10:00 - You will reach the trail head and then drive back to Nuwara Eliya.
